SENIOR BAKER.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Baker to support our Head Baker. This is a hands-on, second-in-command role, combining daily production with leadership, organisation, and product development.
Key Responsibilities
Production
- Lead daily production.
- Maintain high standards in fermentation, lamination, shaping and baking.
- Ensure consistency, quality and efficiency
Leadership
- Support and guide the team.
- Delegate tasks and maintain clear workflow
- Train and develop junior team members
- Step into full responsibility in Head Baker’s absence
Organisation
- Assist with production planning and scheduling
- Manage stock, ordering and minimise waste
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace
Development
- Contribute to product and menu development
- Bring ideas for seasonal and new items
- Stay engaged with evolving baking techniques and ingredients
Candidate Profile
- Strong experience in artisan sourdough baking
- Skilled in viennoiserie (lamination, proofing, baking)
- Background in a bakery or professional kitchen
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven ability to lead, organise and delegate
- Be driven and constantly wanting to improve and learn new skills
- Calm, reliable and solutions-focused
- High attention to detail and consistency
- Genuine passion for bread, pastry and food
